March 2005 - Brisbane Qld.
Adele has just received her Mini CC and says :
Finally got my Concentrator last night
and just made my first bead.
Just figured out how to light the gas.
Had a few try's at it but. Nearly shit my pants when I
actually lit the flame.
WHoa! Cornel recommending that I set it up outside first,
good advice hey!
I just made my first bead!!!!!!! Plain moretti black.
Holy cow, it was like an outta body experience. So deathly
quiet.
The glass just melted like butter. I think I've just had
a glass orgasm
APRIL 2005 - Brisbane Qld.
Stacey has just received her Mini CC and says :
I have recently purchased the mini Carlisle
torch and I LOVE it.
After coming off a hot head I love the fact that I can
hear everything going on around me.
It’s so quiet. I haven’t had any issues with the transition
from using the hot head to the hotter flame produced by
the mini Carlisle torch.
It’s a great buy and I definitely do not look back on
this purchase as a bad one. I purchased this torch through
Ozziebuddy and I’m very impressed with the level of service
provided.
I had heaps of ‘dumb’ questions to be answered as I wanted
to make sure I was buying the best torch for my needs
and every question was answered.
I received a phone call from Ozziebuddy to confirm my
delivery day.
I would have no hesitation in purchasing another torch
from Ozziebuddy and when I want to upgrade again, I will.

This is the torch testing station - with three mini cc's on
the right and one minor burner on the left.
ALL of these were ordered, tested and SOLD.
Your Mini CC will be individually configured, tested and shipped
usually within 48 hours
after receipt of your payment.
Regulators are required on both LPG and Oxygen tanks as delivery
pressures are typically,
Propane Gas 2-5PSI and Oxygen 5-10PSI.
An alternative to the use of the Oxygen Cylinder
is to use an Oxygen Concentrator such as is used
for medical reasons to supply oxygen for long periods to home
care patients.
We can supply the combination gas/oxy hoses
in ANY length you require when ordering -
but we recommend that, for safety reasons, you purchase at least
5 metres of hoses
so that you can place the tanks a good distance away from your
work area.
STANDARD LENGTHS are:
5 metres
10 metres
15 metres
The standard hoses come fitted with an LPG coupling for your
LPG tank regulator AND connected to your torch.
IF you are using both LPG and Oxygen tanks - we can fit the
hoses with BOTH couplings for both regulators.
IF you are using LPG and a concentrator - the standard hoses
with one coupling is all you may need.
Please check with your oxy concentrator supplier for their oxygen
output method before ordering.
The kits will come to you FULLY ASSEMBLED - so you merely unpack
your torch connected to the hoses
and regulators and screw the regulators into your tanks - then
follow the instructions as listed below.
FITTING YOUR HOSES TO THE REGULATORS
This is the 9KG LPG tank and regulator assembly.
The small knick in the adapters signify a LEFT HAND thread -
to tighten - turn ANTI - CLOCKWISE.
To tighten the hose adapter on to the regulator - use TWO SPANNERS.
Place one spanner on the regulator nut - then tighten the adapter
with the other one
|
Please avoid OVER TIGHTENING
the brass adapters.
Brass is a soft metal and may be damaged by excess force.
When you meet resistance - tighten just a fraction more
- and
that will do the the job nicely and prevent damage to
the brass seat.
|

This is the D size Oxygen tank and regulator
assembly.
Notice that all adapters are unmarked - this signifies a RIGHT
HAND thread -
to tighten - turn CLOCKWISE.
To tighten the hose adapter on to the regulator - use TWO SPANNERS.
Place one spanner on the regulator nut - then tighten the adapter
with the other one
In Australia, you may rent an Oxygen tank like this for typically
$101 for 12 months and refills will cost around $28.
A larger E tank rents for about $118 for 12 months and cost
around $51 to fill up.
Regulators are clearly marked
"Oxygen" and "Propane" so you can't mix
them up if you tried.
To summarise - The Oxygen regulator is fitted with all RIGHT
HAND threads
and the Propane regulator is fitted with all LEFT HAND threads
making it impossible to install into the incorrect tank.
Adjusting your regulator/s FOR THE
FIRST TIME.
When you first get your
regulator, it will be UNWOUND
- that is - not supplying any gas - now read on.
Connecting your Ozziebuddy Carlisle Mini CC Torch Kit
to Gas Tanks and an Oxygen Concentrator.
STEP 1
Have your torch knobs turned OFF - your Tank
valves turned OFF,
and your Regulator knobs UNWOUND.
If using an oxy concentrator - OPEN your Mini
CC Green oxygen knob fully so as
not to restrict the flow of oxygen from the
concentrator.
STEP 2
OPEN the PROPANE (LPG) Tank valve FULLY to allow
pressure into the regulator
and the gauge on the right will show a reading
of tank pressure.
On the PROPANE (LPG) regulator,
turn the knob slowly CLOCKWISE to adjust the
pressure to the torch so that it reads 2-3 PSI
(14-21KPA) - or adjust the needle to read to
the line that I marked on the gauge.
STEP 3
OPEN the OXYGEN Tank valve FULLY to allow pressure
into the regulator
and the gauge on the right will show a reading
of tank pressure.
On the OXYGEN regulator,
turn the knob slowly CLOCKWISE to adjust the
pressure to the torch so that it reads 5 - 8
PSI (35-56KPA) - or adjust the needle to read
between the line/s that I marked on the gauge.
IF YOU HAVE an
Oxy Concentrator :-
Ensure that your torch Oxy valve is fully OPEN.
Turn on your concentrator for 5 minutes before
lighting your torch.
This allows the oxygen purity to build up to
the highest concentration..
YOU are now ready to light
your torch.
Ensure that you
have at least 30 - 50cm clearance IN FRONT of
your torch.
The initial PROPANE
(LPG) ONLY flame may extend that far depending
on
the adjustment of your PROPANE setting.
IF YOU HAVE
BOTH LPG AND OXY TANKS :-
OPEN the torch PROPANE (LPG) valve (Red Knob)
only a SMALL amount - SLOWLY - and light the
gas. The flame will be long and yellow as there
is NO OXYGEN in the flame at this time.
Now OPEN the Oxygen valve (Green Knob) - SLOWLY
- and adjust your flame to suit - also adjusting
the PROPANE (LPG) valve for your desired flame.
IF YOU ARE USING
AN OXY CONENTRATOR :-
CLOSE the Oxygen
valve (Green Knob) just before you are ready
to light your torch.
OPEN the torch
PROPANE (LPG) valve (Red Knob) only a SMALL
amount - SLOWLY - and light the gas. The flame
will be long and yellow as there is NO OXYGEN
in the flame at this time.
OPEN your Oxygen valve FULLY and adjust your
flame with LPG as desired.
It is essential that you do not
provide a lengthy restriction to the oxygen
flow of your concentrator.
SHUTTING DOWN
AT YOUR TORCH
CLOSE the OXYGEN
valve (Green Knob) - this will
starve the flame and minimuise the risk of
a flashback.
CLOSE the PROPANE
(LPG) valve (Red Knob)
If you are using an oxy concentrator, OPEN the
oxygen valve AFTER closing the Propane valve
so as not to restrict the flow of oxygen produced
by the concentrator.
If you plan to do more work in 30 minutes or
so, you may leave the concentrator running
as the manufacturer does
not recommend turning it off and on for short
periods.
AT YOUR TANKS
CLOSE the PROPANE
and OXYGEN valves on your tanks.
OPEN both valves
on the torch to release the gasses from your
hoses.
UNWIND both REGULATOR
KNOBS - OR - if you have an oxy concentrator
- turn it off.
SHUTDOWN IS
COMPLETE
|
WHEN
you've finished torching for the day....
and have SHUT DOWN down your torch.
CLOSE BOTH tank valves - then OPEN both taps on your
torch
and let the gasses escape from your hoses.
This action will prolong the life of your hoses by minimising
the build up of gas residues within the hoses.
This is a demonstration of a large HOT flame produced
by the Carlisle Mini CC.
This is a pin point flame setting.
