STEP 1
Have your torch knobs turned OFF - your Tank
valves turned OFF,
and your Regulator knobs UNWOUND.
If using an oxy concentrator - OPEN your Mini
CC Green oxygen knob fully so as
not to restrict the flow of oxygen from the
concentrator.
STEP 2
OPEN the PROPANE (LPG) Tank valve FULLY to allow
pressure into the regulator
and the gauge on the right will show a reading
of tank pressure.
On the PROPANE (LPG) regulator,
turn the knob slowly CLOCKWISE to adjust the
pressure to the torch so that it reads 2-3 PSI
(14-21KPA) - or adjust the needle to read to
the line that I marked on the gauge.
STEP 3
OPEN the OXYGEN Tank valve FULLY to allow pressure
into the regulator
and the gauge on the right will show a reading
of tank pressure.
On the OXYGEN regulator,
turn the knob slowly CLOCKWISE to adjust the
pressure to the torch so that it reads 5 - 8
PSI (35-56KPA) - or adjust the needle to read
between the line/s that I marked on the gauge.
IF YOU HAVE an
Oxy Concentrator :-
Ensure that your torch Oxy valve is fully OPEN.
Turn on your concentrator for 5 minutes before
lighting your torch.
This allows the oxygen purity to build up to
the highest concentration..
YOU are now ready to light
your torch.
Ensure that you
have at least 30 - 50cm clearance IN FRONT of
your torch.
The initial PROPANE
(LPG) ONLY flame may extend that far depending
on
the adjustment of your PROPANE setting.
IF YOU HAVE
BOTH LPG AND OXY TANKS :-
OPEN the torch PROPANE (LPG) valve (Red Knob)
only a SMALL amount - SLOWLY - and light the
gas. The flame will be long and yellow as there
is NO OXYGEN in the flame at this time.
Now OPEN the Oxygen valve (Green Knob) - SLOWLY
- and adjust your flame to suit - also adjusting
the PROPANE (LPG) valve for your desired flame.
IF YOU ARE USING
AN OXY CONENTRATOR :-
CLOSE the Oxygen
valve (Green Knob) just before you are ready
to light your torch.
OPEN the torch
PROPANE (LPG) valve (Red Knob) only a SMALL
amount - SLOWLY - and light the gas. The flame
will be long and yellow as there is NO OXYGEN
in the flame at this time.
OPEN your Oxygen valve FULLY and adjust your
flame with LPG as desired.
It is essential that you do not
provide a lengthy restriction to the oxygen
flow of your concentrator.
SHUTTING DOWN
AT YOUR TORCH
CLOSE the OXYGEN
valve (Green Knob) - this will
starve the flame and minimuise the risk of
a flashback.
CLOSE the PROPANE
(LPG) valve (Red Knob)
If you are using an oxy concentrator,
OPEN
the oxygen valve AFTER closing the Propane valve
so as not to restrict the flow of oxygen produced
by the concentrator.
If you plan to do more work in
30 minutes or so,
you may leave the concentrator running as
the manufacturer does
not recommend turning it off and on for short
periods.
AT YOUR TANKS
CLOSE the PROPANE
and OXYGEN valves on your tanks.
OPEN both valves
on the torch to release the gasses from your
hoses.
UNWIND both REGULATOR
KNOBS - OR - if you have an oxy concentrator
- turn it off.
SHUTDOWN IS
COMPLETE
